REGULATIONS OF

TRAKAI HALF-MARATHON 

I. COMMON PART

            Municipality of Trakai region, Athletics federation of Lithuania, club ‘Sostinės Olimpas’ and association ‘SPORTO RENGINIAI’ organizes international Trakai half-marathon on the 11th of May, 2019.

II. AIMS AND TASKS

  1. To encourage foreigners’ interest in Lithuania and Trakai.
  2. To develop links with other cities which are organising marathons.
  3. To promote running and athletics in Lithuania.
  4. To enhance quantity of mass events in Trakai. To enhance an activity of the city residents.
  5. To promote running as a healthy way of living.
  6. To find out the best Lithuanian half-marathon runners in various age groups.

 

III. LIABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EVENT ORGANISERS

  1. To register the participants of the event, to make and give out the numbers.
  2. To measure and certify the route so it would be technically ready for the running according to the International Athletics Competition Rules and Road Running Association (AIMS) requirements;
  3. To advertise the event and exercise the public relations campaign in order to promote half-marathon and attract more participants.
  4. To limit or completely stop the traffic on the streets in which Trakai half-marathon competition and other related events will be held.

IV. THE TIME, THE PLACE AND THE DISTANCES OF THE EVENT

On the 11th of may, 2019 in Trakai, Karaimų street.

  1. 10.00 a.m. – half-marathon (21,097 km); 10,5km running.
  2. 12.30 p.m. – 1 km team event with pushchairs.
  3. 12.45 p.m. – 1 km running.
  4. 1 p.m. – 5 km running.

V. TIME LIMIT

  1. Half-marathon – 3 h.
  2. 5 km running – 1 h.
  3. 1 km team event with pushchairs is not timed;
  4. The electronic system of time measurement will be turned off at 2 p.m. on the running day and time will not be recorded from that on. At 3 p.m. the town roads will be opened and the organizers of the marathon will not be responsible for the safety of the runners still remaining on the running route. 

VI. PARTICIPANTS

  1. All willing people can participate in the competition after filling in the entry documents. The participants take part in the event at their free will, nobody is forcing them and they accept all the risks (unexpected health problems, etc.) related to the competition and will have no legal claims in this respect to the organizers of the Half-marathon. Upon the registration and taking his or her race number the participant must have a personal identification document. Parents, guardians or coach are responsible for minors participating in the event.
  2. With the registration to the event every participant authorizes the acquisition of the rights to use images or videos in which he or she appears for marketing purposes without additional permission of the participant.
  3. Only children who were born in 2006 and later can participate in 1 km running.
  4. In 1 km team running with pushchairs any family or any couple can participate just having in mind that at least one of the team members have to finish all route in a pushchair. Only children who were born in 2017 and later can be a participant in a pushchair.
  5. In 10,5 km and 5 km running participates everyone who wishes.
  6. Only people who are born in 2001 and earlier can participate in half marathon.

VII. SPECIAL TERMS AND RESTRICTIONS

  1. The participants can use only their names and surnames while getting registered into any of the competitions. To give away their number to other person is strictly forbidden. If this term is not followed, the participants will be disqualified and the results will not be included into the official competition results.
  2. If a registered participant wants to change the distance he chose previously to a shorter one he has to pay 6 EUR distance change fee. If he wants to change it to a longer one, he has to pay the difference of starting fee for longer route valid on that particular day.
  3. Every participant of the competition must have a number fastened neatly on the T-shirt. The number has to be fastened on the front of the T-shirt and to be clearly visible.
  4. For the participants and their supporters it is strictly forbidden to use any kind of transport, e.g. bicycles, roller-skates, skate-boards and other wheeled vehicles. In case of breaking this restriction the participant will be disqualified.
  5. The participants are not allowed to have any personal escort during the race. In case of breaking this restriction the participant will be disqualified.
  6. No animals are permitted on the route during the race.
  7. Each competitor must attach the time measuring electronic device on the shoe. Time results will not be included into the race results and the time will not be recorded if the competitors do not attach or attach the ‘chip’ inappropriately.
  8. Any deviation from the set course (without permission of the judge) is prohibited. In case of breaking this restriction the participant will be disqualified.
  9. Any possible claims must be submitted to the main referee of the competition in writing within 30 minutes after the termination of the competition, accompanied by a fee of 30 EUR, which will be refunded if the claim is satisfied by the appeal commission (the director of the half-marathon, main referee). The claims are not considered unless the fee is paid.

VIII. SPECIAL STATIONS ON THE ROUTE

Catering stations will be set up along the course of the half-marathon where participants will be given energetic drinks, water and fruits.

IX. AWARDS

1. Half-marathon:

a. 1 – 3 place winners (men and women) will be awarded with Trakai half-marathon Cups and prize bounty (which will be announced and proceed later to winners bank account).

b. The winners of the age groups (F40 – F70 and M40 – M70) will be awarded with remembrances.

C. All the participants who will finish the distance within the time limits will receive commemorative medals.

2. 10,5 km and 5 km running awards:

a. 1 – 3 place winners (men and women) will be awarded with Cups and gift vouchers.

b. All the participants who will finish the distance will receive commemorative souvenirs.

3. 1 km running awards:

a. All the participant who will finish the distance will receive commemorative souvenirs.

4. 1 km team running with pushchairs awards:

All the participants will receive commemorative souvenirs. The winners of this event will not be announced. 

X. STARTING FEE

For the participants of Half – marathon:

  1. Registered until the 31stof March, 2019 – 17 EUR;
  2. registered until the 1stof April – 30thof April, 2019  – 22 EUR;
  3. registered until the 1stof May – 9thof May, 2019  – 25 EUR;
  4. registered on the 10-11thof May, 2019 – 30 EUR.

For participants of 5 km and 10,5 km races:

  1. Registered until the 31stof March, 2019 – 10 EUR;
  2. registered until the 1stof April – 9thof May, 2019  – 14 EUR;
  3. registered on the 10-11thof May, 2019 – 20 EUR.

For participants of  1 km race:

  1. Registered until the 31stof March, 2019 – 3 EUR;
  2. registered until the 1stof April – 9thof May, 2019  – 5 EUR;
  3. registered on the 10-11thof May, 2019 – 6 EUR.

For participants of 1 km team running with pushchairs: (for participants in pushchair there is no starting fee)

  1. Registered until the 31stof March, 2019 – 3 EUR;
  2. registered until the 1stof April – 9thof May, 2019  – 5 EUR;
  3. registered on the 10-11thof May, 2019 – 6 EUR.

Participants’ entry fee needs to be sent to Association‘s ‘SPORTO RENGINIAI’ bank account – LT55 7300 0101 0353 7642 Swedbank or made using payment system Paysera.

If participant who has registered for the race does not pay entry fee in 7 working days, he is automatically removed from registered participants list. If this individual wants to race, he needs to register all over again. Payment must be made ​​in accordance with the starting fee on the day of the payment. Improper payment of entrance fee will not be counted!

The entry fee is non-refundable and cannot be given to other participant.

 

XI. REGISTRATION OF THE PARTICIPANTS AND NUMBERS’ ISSUANCE

  1. All participants may register on the internet at www.trakupusmaratonis.lt , www.lithuanianhalfmarathon.eu till the 10th of May, 2019, 24.00h.
  2. Participants will be able to take their numbers and the time measuring device:
    • On the 8th  9th of May from ????
    • On the 110th of May from 18.00 to 20.00 in Trakai near start-finish line (Karaimų str. 29, KYBYNLAR).
    • On the 11th of May at Kęstučio str. 10:
    • Participants of the half marathon and 10,5 km running will be able to collect their numbers from 8.00 to 9.00, to register from 8.00 to 9.00.
    • Participants of the 1 km and 5 km running will be able to collect their numbers from 8.00 to 12.00, to register from 8.00  to 11.30.
  3. If participant registers correctly and pays the starting fee, he or she is enrolled into start protocol.

XIII. THE ROUTE

1. Half-marathon – 2 circles, 10,5 km – 1 circle:

      Route – Trakai street, next to fire-station going to Karaimai street, Vytauto street, Sodų street, Birutės street, bus station, walkway of Luka lake, bridge, Žemaitės street, walkway of Galvė lake, bridge, bridge on Luka lake, walkway of Galvė lake, Karaimų street.

2. 5 km – 1 circle:

Route – Trakai street, next to fire-station going to Karaimai street, Vytauto street, Sodų street, Birutės street, bus station, walkway of Luka and Galvė lakes, Karaimų street.

3. 1 km – 1 circle:

Trakai street, next to fire-station going to Karaimai street.
